La Joconda

This is a tribute to the traditional Moroccan women inside their homes.
Mothers, grandmothers, they all made sacrifices for the wellbeing of their husbands, children and families, however they are still left out, unnoticed.
There is a grace, a mystery in each of these women, such as for a “Joconda”. And at the same time, all are familiar to us, they are the faces of our childhood, who feed their children, keeping houses, go to bed last and get up first.
Beyond their drained faces, marked by scars of life, their back to the wall, without any makeup or accessories in the shadows of dark narrow rooms, an inner nobility radiates from all these women, an aura filling the frame, forcing the doors of emotion, we remain seized by all their hidden beauty that comes to light, their presence is so intense, such as a Joconde.
These womankind tend to disappear and being replaced by the new generations, they are far more different.
